The Harmandir Sahib or the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab
The holiest Gurdwara or the place of worship of the Sikhs is Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, India. It is situated
in Northern India. It is also called The Golden Temple and as the name suggests, the temple has the top parts
covered in gold. The temple is beautiful both during day and night. It was started in the year 1588 and the
temple was complete in 1601. It also had history of invasions as the Afghans attacked and damaged the temple.
It was later restored in 1760. Today it is a major tourist attraction and people of religions and places come to
visit the temple.
